A.A.s Safety Plan - AA Comes of Age pg79

 Safety in A.A.

Does Alcoholics Anonymous have a safety plan? YES. After the 12 steps, we have a second set of principles created solely for the safety of our fellowship.
These principles are called the 12 Traditions of Alcoholics anonymous. They represent the distilled experience of our past, and we rely on them to carry Us in unity through the challenges and dangers which the future may bring."
Do these principles work to keep us safe? Not unless we study them, teach them and practice them. This safety plan only works if we work it. If the Traditions are not talked about, studied or taught, then how do we practice them? If we want our rooms to be safe, I believe it's time for our areas, districts, and groups to pick up this second set of spiritual tools layed at our feet.
